Zinc is a corrosion protection system utilizing the cathodic protection properties of zinc to ductile iron. In compliance with ISO 8179, zinc is applied to the pipe surface either with an arc-applied, 99.99% pure zinc material or with a zinc-rich paint. The zinc layer will have a mass of 200 g/m² and a finished layer of standard shop coat is accordance with AWWA C-151.
